"Rainbow and brown trout are stocked in the Casselman in good numbers. For example, the DNR stocking schedule indicates that 8,000 adult trout are stocked in the spring alone. That's a lot of fish for 4 miles of water, and it makes the Casselman the most densely stocked special regulation river in the state...Over the years, the Casselman has gotten a reputation for being a big fish river...Our experiences certainly confirm (this point). We have seen pods of submarines in this river during the spring, and Larry has landed a bruiser estimated at eight pounds (with pictures to prove it!) This was his largest fish in Maryland waters. The Casselman's reputation is indeed earned."
