*ALTERNATE ROUTE to Rt. 219 South (Deep Creek, Swallow Falls, Herrington Manor, and Potomac-Garrett) – it’s about 10 minutes faster and quite scenic, but we don’t recommend it under severe weather conditions:
From Grantsville, take Rt. 495 South over the I-68 overpass toward Bittinger, about 12 miles. After passing the Meadow Mountain Mennonite Church on your right, turn right onto Glendale Road. At the bottom of a long hill turn sharp right onto State Park Road (for Deep Creek Lake State Park) OR continue on Glendale Road until it ends. Turn left onto Rt. 219 South for Swallow Falls, Herrington Manor, or Potomac-Garrett. We promise you a memorable stay here in the beautiful scenic mountains of western Maryland. 2/12 hours from DC; 3 hours from Baltimore; and just 1 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh. Call 1-800-272-4090 today
